Rui (Rae) Zhang, P.E.

Ms. Zhang is a licensed civil engineer with fourteen years of experience in water infrastructure planning and design, engineering services during construction, and construction/program management. Ms. Zhang’s primary expertise is in water and wastewater treatment. She is also proficient in hydraulic modeling, pipeline design, and pumping systems design.

Ms. Zhang’s experience includes:

Chief Engineer for the 100-MGD Pantai 2 Sewage Treatment Plant Design-Build-Operate Project in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Final design of water conveyance pipelines up to 36-inch diameter
Hydraulic modeling and water system master planning
Water and wastewater pump station design

Rich Bichette, P.E.

Mr. Bichette is a licensed civil engineer with twenty one years of experience in planning, design, and construction management of water-related infrastructure including water transmission and distribution pipelines, pumping facilities, storage facilities, and treatment systems. Mr. Bichette has managed projects for a wide array of public agencies throughout California including Pasadena Water and Power, Santa Clarita Valley Water Agency, Inland Empire Utilities Agency, Eastern Municipal Water District, Coachella Valley Water District, City of San Diego, Los Angeles Department of Water & Power, Burbank Water and Power, Las Virgenes Municipal Water District and many more.

Mr. Bichette’s experience includes:

Design of over one million feet of pipeline from 6-inch to 60-inch diameter
Design of over 40 pumping facilities up to 120,000-gpm
Condition/hydraulic assessment of over 75 pumping facilities
Water resources planning and recycled water systems

STYLO is an engineering consulting firm delivering water infrastructure solutions to public and private clients. STYLO [stīlō] is from the Greek word “stylos or stilos” meaning "pillar or column", and STYLO strives to be a central pillar for our clients. The STYLO partners (Rui Zhang and Rich Bichette) mastered their skills at multi-disciplined engineering firms starting in the 1990s. In 2019, they seized an opportunity to provide flexible, high-quality services by eliminating the constraints of working within a large corporate structure.

STYLO provides a full range of services in civil and water infrastructure engineering, with a focus on potable water/wastewater/recycled water/stormwater system planning, feasibility studies, design, and construction management.
